Are you afraid to take your kids to the laundromat? Worried that your kids will become the terrors of the mat, and send everyone screaming from the store? Maybe you just want to leave them home because it’s too much bother. There is no better time than now to start creating good laundry day habits that include your kids. Here are five easy tips to start with.<\/p>\n

Tip 1 – Creating Good Laundry Day Habits<\/h2>\n

Use this time as the kid’s homework time. Give them the option to get their homework done while you are at the laundromat, and they will get their favorite treat when you leave. Incentivizing them at the beginning will help them learn to make good use of their time, and save you a lot of stress later on.<\/p>\n

Tip 2 – Think Safety For Everyone<\/h2>\n

Kids should never be left to run in the laundromat, or to ride in carts at any time. Not only is this a bad idea for the consideration of others and the equipment, but also for the safety of your children. Instead, give them a job to do that is easy, and will make them feel accomplished. After all, kids are people too. So, what better way to teach them a new skill than at the laundromat.<\/p>\n

Tip 3 – Guide Them to Respect Others<\/h2>\n

There is a lot happening at the laundry on a busy day. So, if you must go during busy times, be sure to teach them by example. Respect others, and maybe even give your child the job of guarding your laundry in the washer or dryer. After all, laundry left unattended may be stolen or lost forever. Giving them this job will ensure that they know never to leave their laundry unattended.<\/p>\n

Tip 4 – Laundry Done In No time<\/h2>\n

To help you get in and out fast, create a good laundry day habit with your kids too. Teach them to get their laundry done in a flash by setting a timer. If they help you get the laundry in and out of the washer and dryer, and folded within a certain time period, they get …. You fill in the blank, but the result will be teaching them the value of time, and also that by helping others they can get the job done even faster.<\/p>\n

Tip 5 – Make a Game of Learning<\/h2>\n

Creating good laundry day habits can be a game too. Contests and games are an easy way to make the laundromat visit fun and easier. If you have 2 kids and two washers to load, see who can fill it the fastest, or who can fold the neatest. Whatever the contest, there are many ways to make laundry day fun, and creative too.<\/p>\n
